Certain records may not be available for public inspection in accordance with Federal and State statutes and the Rules Governing the Courts of the State of New Jersey or court order. Common examples of confidential records include those involving child victims of sexual abuse, cases involving trade secrets and records in any case ordered impounded by a judge.

eCourts is a web based application that is designed to allow attorneys, in good standing, to electronically file documents with the courts. The Judiciary’s plans for full implementation of eCourts in all trial court divisions are underway. The plan to modernize our systems is.

The Criminal Judgments Public Access database lists all judgments including Judgments of Conviction (final judgment of guilt in a criminal case), Judgments of Conviction & Orders for Commitment, Change of Judgments of Conviction, Change of Judgments of Conviction & Orders for Commitment, Judgments of Acquittal, and Judgments of Dismissal.

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2B:1-4, the Administrative Office of the Courts is authorized to develop and operate an automated data processing system that allows the public to access court information. Information is provided in accordance with guidelines adopted by the Supreme Court and authorizes the Supreme Court to set fees for remote access.The Electronic Access Program (“EAP”) was developed by the Judiciary.

Criminal Cases: PROMIS/Gavel Public Access, Public Access Reports – New Jersey Superior Court, Public Access Reports – New Jersey Superior Court, Public Access Reports – New Jersey Superior Court, Access to case status information (open/closed) and Decision Details (date, award, type of decision and fees awarded). Security: Individual subscribers will only have the ability to view information on the cases that have been assigned to their firm, thus ensuring the confidentiality of case data.

Once you have chosen the desired report(s) and have filled out the Request form, send your request via E-mail to PublicAccess.Mailbox@njcourts.gov .
