Acceptable Hobby Targets: Mockery of personal hobbies, interests, and pastimes, especially those outside the social norm. Acceptable Political Targets: Mockery of political ideologies, social movements, and activists or politicians that one disagrees with.
A subset of Acceptable Targets .This one deals with demonized political groups. It’s gonna be a Long List, because politics is one arena where (in a democratic society, at least) all groups not only have to compete against each other, but have to publicly compare themselves with each other.This too easily leads to making the other guy out to be a Straw Character.

7/3/2020 · Some of the most typical targets: Geeks/Nerds. It still seems acceptable to make fun of somebody if their preferred hobbies aren’t cool enough. See also Loners Are Freaks. Seems to be diminishing for computer nerds as of late. If you can make a video game people are amazed now, not repulsed. Everyone else with a tech hobby is still out of luck.
Once Acceptable Targets. Some Once Acceptable Targets can also be Unacceptable Targets at times, although not always. Really, anyone (and anything) in some places.
