Freelander 2 Droning Noise

Freelander 2 Droning Noise

A fairly common fault on pre 2011 Freelander 2 models you will hear a whine, hum or droning noise coming from the rear of the car. It is particularly noticable when driving at a constant higher speed, but can start from 20mph. Land Rover are aware of this common fault and issued a technical bulletin detailing a repair procedure.

9/7/2014  · Hi again y’all – the wife’s Freelander 2 (2009 model) has started droning when driving, and no it’s not her. She got new rear tyres fitted recently and while I’ve seen some threads that suggest swapping the tyres round I’ve also spoken to my local Landy repair shop who claim by my description that it’s the diff and have quoted £1000 plus VAT for the replacement.

So, I’m two months into ownership (2007 FL2 2 . 2 HSE Auto) and generally am as pleased as a double dicked dog with it.. However it’s recently started to make a noise from the front of the car a little like I’d expect it to make if equipped with off-road tyres .. The noise is like a deep drone , starts at about 20mph until about 40-45..

I have a freelander 2 and an awful droning noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when travelling about 30mph which I hope is a wheel bearing. Having said this since noticing the noise I am hearing things that could have always been there and I have just never bothered to.

5/30/2019  · My Freelander 2 has just started making a loud humming/droning noise from the rear, most pronounced above 50mph. Its related to road speed not revs / gear. Don’t hear it at all below 30 quite bearable from 30-50.

Common Problems and Fixes – Freelander 2 – K Motors, Common Problems and Fixes – Freelander 2 – K Motors, Hi, trying to do up my first Land rover, a Wreg l series Freelander . The one thing that’s worrying me now is the droning rumbling noise from underneath. It starts at very low speeds ,doesn’t get get much louder as speed increases but its always there, I wouldn’t say its a whine. There are no clunks or bangs when I accelerate or slow down.

I f there is a drumming or humming sound coming from the rear of your Freelander 2 or Evoque, the chances are the rear diff bearings are failing. This is very common on the 2007-2011 models and can occur even in very low mileage vehicles.

My question would be: I have a freelander 2 , 2014 2 . 2 td4. I bought a year ago but noticed a droning , whining noise , from somewhere in middle or back of car, especially around a certain speed (50mph). If there would be a problem with the Haldex unit, would it be ok to take out the FB 6 fuse or disconnect the Haldex ecu plug and drive the car …

11/20/2010  · Little extra road noise and last an age – 90,000 out of one pair! At not much over £100 a corner, that’s good value! If your Freelander is mostly being used on road, BFG ATs would be over the top, and our TD4 is on Goodyear road tyres, but only because thats what came on it new.

Have a freelander 2 sport. Have a whining/droning noise coming from the rear of the car. Had the rear diff done 18 months ago. Garage have had it today. Checked diff and Haldex unit and says both are fine. Thought I’d could have been discs so have changed rear discs , brakes and hand brake shoes but noise …
